Naya Rivera May have Drowned After Using All Her Energy To Save Her Four-Year-Old Son, Says Authorities
On July 2020, Naya Rivera went missing while boating with her four year old son on a lake in Southern California, America.
The search for has come to a tragic end. Glee star actress was confirmed dead by authorities on Monday, 13th July 2020, after she has been missing for five days. Her body was found at Lake Piru in California. The actress body was found floating at the surface of the lake by personnel searching by boat early Monday morning, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub confirms during a media briefing.
"Based on the location where the body was found, physical characteristics of the body, clothing found of the body and physical condition of the body, as well as the absence of any other persons reported in the area, we are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera," said Bill Ayub.
An autopsy has not yet been conducted to confirm the cause of death and a positive identification of Naya's remains will be made through dental records.
Authorities investigating the cause of her death said they think she may have drowned after mustering enough energy to save her four-year-old son, but not herself.
"We know from speaking with her son that he and Naya swam in the lake together at some point during the journey, it was during that time that her son described being help into the boat by Naya who boosted him onto the deck from behind." said Bill Ayub. "Her son told investigator that he looked back and saw her disappear under the surface of the water"
