Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter Treated Differently Than Brian Molefe Because He Is White

The R5 billion that disappeared from the bank balance of Eskom as we are talking now, under the current CEO and the board.

ANC spokesperson Dakota Legoete has broken silence about Eskom's missing R5 billion under the new CEO Andre de Ruyter.

Eskom has since refused to reveal the name the contractor that got a R5 billion overpayment from the national power utility.

The standing committee on appropriations heard during a visit to Eskom that a contractor had been overpaid by R5 billion and there was “an agreement that it was an error”.

"The R5 billion that disappeared from the bank balance of Eskom as we are talking now, under the current CEO and the board. We would expect equally equally to say, to be done to De Ruyter like what was done to Brian Molefe. Because it cannot be that because De Ruyter is a white man is treated differently from Brian Moelefe and other black executives who have been put under the bus," Dakota said.

"The law must apply the same and equally is the same with members of the ANC. They must be treated the same or else we are inviting an unpalatable situation or a rebellion against any leader. So I do not think it will be in the interest of President Cyril Ramaphosa not to unify the movement," he added.
