Bill Gates Returns With $1.6 Billion To Vaccinate The World Against COVID-19

Billionaire and philanthropist Bill Gates has committed $1.6 billion to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI). The contribution was made through Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation during the UK hosted Vaccine Summit on the 4th of June.

Speaking during the summit, Gates expressed his concerns about the fact that people are locked down but no vaccine has been successfully developed to fight against COVID-19.

“The devastating impact of COVID-19 is a huge reminder of how vulnerable we are to disease.” said Bill Gates.

“Right now we’ve got billions of people in lockdown because we don’t have a vaccine or cure for COVID-19,” he added.

Global Vaccine Summit 2020 has pledged a total amount of $5.7 billion to GAVI, a Seattle based foundation. The objective of the funding is to deploy a variety of vaccines which are said to save lives of 8 million people according to Gavi.

Microsoft founder came under attack after a number of old videos surfaced where he expressed his personal views about overpopulation. It is these videos that were circulated on all social media platforms that attracted criticism of Gates.

Gates has since denied allegations that his vaccines are aimed at depopulating the world. He was also accused of wanting to use vaccines to implant microchips to beneficiaries of COVID-19 cure.

One of Gates backed testing programme was halted by the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). The Seattle home based testing programme known as Coronavirus Assessment Network (SCAN) was reportedly shut down by regulators after they tightened the rules. Gates funded the SCAN in his private capacity.

Gates has since denied his involvement in any sort of microchip programme. "It’s almost hard to deny this stuff because it’s so stupid or strange,” he said.
